learning for life

Background

Learning for Life has had an incredible journey since its origins in an attic in 1994. The initial concept was developed by Charlotte Bannister Parker and Sophie Swire was to help develop girl's education in India and Pakistan. Fourteen years on, Learning for Life has expanded in vision and commitment, working with street and working children, as well as impoverished communities across Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, while advocating for greater recognition of development issues within the UK.

Learning for Life continues to create transparent, local partnerships to work with negelected and isolated communities and indviduals.

We continue to tacking difficult issues in South Asia, working with girls in post Taliban Afghanistan, communities reconstructing schools after the earthquake in Pakistan, communities cut off by floods in Bangladesh and children infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS in India.
