****EMERGENCY FLOOD APPEAL UPDATE****

The floods in Andhra Pradesh a few weeks ago, the worst for over a hundred years, had a devastating affect on the communities with whom LfL has been working for the last three years.

Hundreds of people lost their homes and businesses, twelve of our education centres were destroyed and, perhaps most tragically, crops and food stores were spoiled, meaning people have been finding it extremely hard to feed their families. However, thanks to the generosity of our donors we were able to provide emergency relief in the form of clean water and nutritious food to all of the 1,180 children in the area.

BUT WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP….. 

Once the waters have fully receded and the damage has been assessed, LfL and our local partner will assist the community with the clean-up operation, including rebuilding and repairing schools and homes. We will also provide seed money to families to allow them to restart their businesses and plant new crops; and if required we will provide training to people to enable them to start new businesses.
